Yaxchilan Archaelogical Site

Natural Areas

Yaxchilan is located in the eastern section of the Lacandon Jungle and is geographically characterized by a great meander that resembles the shape of a horseshoe. Yaxchilan is the perfect place if you want to have a completely natural experience. You can cool down in the refreshing Usumacinta River and go for a long walk in the jungle, where you can admire the lush vegetation found among trees that can grow over 40 meters tall with evergreen leaves adorned with various fungi, ferns, bromeliads and hanging moss.

You can complement your tour with the help of one of the young guides of the Chol community, who accompany tourists along walks with the natural spectacles of the cry of the howler monkey, the flight of the toucan, the flight of butterflies and the path of the ants.
